HGV Mechanic

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, and Saturdays on a rotational basis (7:45am-12:30pm)
Location: Cookstown

Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic looking to join a well-established and growing equipment rental company?

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles - ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

The Role

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on a varied fleet including low loaders, HIAB cranes, tractor units, and rigid trucks.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic software, carry out necessary repairs, and liaise with the Stores department to source required parts.
• Maintain accurate service records and job sheets.
• Assist with occasional roadside breakdowns.
• Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and maintain a clean, efficient workshop environment.

The Person

• Proven experience as a mechanic, ideally with exposure to a range of HGVs and heavy vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Team player with a focus on delivering quality work.
• Experience within the truck and trailer industry is essential.
• Relevant mechanical qualification is desirable.
• Welding skills and a full driving licence are advantageous.
