Job description

We are seeking HGV Drivers with leadership experience to work as Refuse Team Leaders on behalf of a public sector client. This role combines safe vehicle operation with day-to-day supervision of waste collection crews.

Key Responsibilities

Operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently
Supervise and support refuse collection operatives on daily routes
Ensure completion of vehicle checks and report defects promptly
Act as first point of contact for members of the public regarding waste services
Support resolution of service issues and escalate when required
Promote recycling and waste education initiatives
Maintain high standards of conduct, appearance, and customer service

Requirements

Valid HGV licence with CPC
Experience leading or supervising operational teams
Knowledge of waste collection and recycling services
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
