Are you ready to advance your career in Health & Safety? We're offering a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our client on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Be a key player in enhancing workplace safety through the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Health and Safety Audits: Complete periodic health and safety audits to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards. Identify and address potential hazards, providing recommendations for improvement.

Communication and Policy Adherence: Provide expert advice and effectively communicate Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies, procedures, and standards to all employees. Assist in championing health and safety practices throughout the company.

Risk Assessment and Incident Investigations: Prepare and update risk assessments and method statements. Assist in conducting thorough accident/incident investigations following the company's reporting procedures.

Training and Inductions: Conduct site inductions and Health & Safety toolbox talks. Provide necessary training sessions to employees as required.

PPE Management: Monitor and control the issuance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure that employees are using the appropriate PPE for their tasks.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate health and safety records, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible. Assist in maintaining a comprehensive database of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.

Promotion of Health & Safety Culture: Actively promote a strong health and safety ethos and culture at all levels within the company. Encourage employees to actively participate in maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Nebosh General Certificate or above
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for effective data management and reporting.
  • Hands-on approach with a flexible attitude to fulfill both site and office duties.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety roles.
  • Previous experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Possession of a driving license is desirable. May require site visits to Dublin and Belfast site
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/construction based role preferred but not essential
