About you
- Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role, ideally within construction, maintenance, or public-sector environments
- Membership of IOSH or working towards it
- Proven experience conducting audits, site inspections, and incident investigations
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Full driving licence and access to transport for site visits
- Excellent report-writing, IT skills, and attention to detail
What you'll do
- Develop, review, and implement health & safety policies and procedures across operational sites
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and compliance checks to ensure site safety
- Produce reports, corrective actions, and monitor follow-up measures
- Deliver health & safety training sessions and promote awareness among staff and contractors
- Support risk assessments, including COSHH, manual handling, DSE, and general risk management
- Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and contribute to RIDDOR submissions
- Provide professional advice on health & safety legislation and best practices
- Liaise with internal teams, external agencies, and regulatory bodies
- Attend meetings and provide expert input on safety matters
