VANRATH are delighted to be working with a well known NICS ALB in their recruitment of a Head of Finance & Corporate Services. This is an excellent role for a Qualified Accountant with public sector experience to go in and head up a finance team within the Civil Service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-level financial management, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making. This position requires a deep understanding of public sector finance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior management and various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Financial Reporting and Corporate Services within ALB
- Responsible for developing and monitoring revenue and capital expenditure budgets
- Delivery and reporting to the Executive Team and Senior Management Team
- Reviewing and approving Capital Projects & Business Cases
- Responsible for overall Corporate Governance, Risk, HR, IT, & Procurement
- Managing a team across multiple sectors
- Full Job Spec available upon application
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant with a recognised professional accounting body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA).
- Strong knowledge of public sector accounting standards and financial regulations
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.
