Head of Finance (90k/Construction)

VANRATH are exclusively seeking a Head of Finance to develop a divisional finance function for a leading construction company.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, they are seeking an experienced finance professional to lead & develop core activities, including but not limited to:

  • As the leader of the finance team, you will manage and develop all aspects of the department including its people, systems and processes so that the department maintains its capacity to inform, guide and influence the business in its financial well-being and probity.
  • Identify, advocate and implements procedural and process business improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee month end and year-end processes.
  • Prepare budgets, capital expenditure submissions, ad hoc reports and cashflow forecasts.
  • Liaise and manage the relationship with statutory auditors.
  • Ensure appropriate financial procedures, controls and structures are in place.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures in relation to Corporate Governance.
  • Review and evaluate financial controls
  • Able to communicate and engage on complex financial issues with colleagues and peers in other departments
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and influencers.
  • Attend and participate in business meetings, industry events and conferences to represent the Company.

Experience & Qualifications

This is a pivotal role within our management team. We are ideally looking for a Candidate who fulfils the following criteria:

  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified.
  • Substantive related experience, with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience in a similar position
  • Developed computer skills across financial software and Microsoft suite of applications
  • Developed organisational and administration skills, evidenced by the ability to prioritise, multi-task and achieve deadlines.
  • Ideally experience of the construction industry
  • Desirable experience of an integrated accounting system.
