About your next employer

The post sits within the Investigations Directorate in the organisation. Headed by the Commissioner for Investigations, you will form part of the Directorate's senior management team, reporting to the Assistant Commissioners for Investigations who leads on support. The Directorate will be multi-disciplinary with a mix of backgrounds and skills and the leadership team will be expected to work together to set a new and unique culture reflecting the Commission's mission and values.

About you

  • Doctoral level education in Psychology or Counselling or related field
  • Minimum 10 years post qualifying experience
  • Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist or accreditation with BACP or UKCP
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of post-qualification specialist training, experience and developing expertise in a specialist area of clinical practice.

What you'll do

  • Provide professional leadership and strategic direction for the Commission on its trauma informed strategy, ensuring that the Commission considers the psychological dynamics and impacts from non-recent events on all actors engaging with its work, including staff but with a focus on requesting individuals, families and other people directly impacted.
  • Lead and direct the clinical team
  • Provide timely expert advice and consultation to senior leaders, drawing on recognised psychological and therapeutic models.
  • Establish clinical governance structures and other elements of service design that ensure excellence in delivery.
