FinOps Manager - Cloud Financial Operations (UK Remote)
Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)

My client is an large enterprise-level business delivering cutting-edge cloud, networking, and digital transformation solutions for major organisations across the UK and beyond. As our cloud portfolio expands, we're seeking a highly skilled FinOps Manager to lead our cloud financial operations strategy - ensuring every pound spent on cloud delivers measurable business value.


The Role
As the FinOps Manager, you'll take ownership of financial operations across our multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP). You'll act as the bridge between technology, finance, and leadership - building robust financial governance, optimising cloud costs, and driving accountability for cloud consumption across the business.
You'll also lead and mentor a small FinOps team, embedding best practice principles across our cloud and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the organisation's FinOps framework across multiple cloud providers.
  • Deliver cost visibility, forecasting, and optimisation to support business and technical teams.
  • Implement governance models, policies, and cost management processes for cloud environments.
  • Build and maintain financial reporting and dashboards to track cloud spend.
  • Manage a high-performing FinOps team, providing coaching and professional development.
  • Partner with engineers, architects, procurement, and finance to deliver value and efficiency.
  • Own chargeback/showback models and ensure transparent cost allocation.
  • Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership and executives.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven background in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, or Cloud Commercial Strategy in a large-scale enterprise or MSP.
  • Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP pricing, billing, and cost optimisation.
  • Strong grasp of cloud economics, forecasting, and consumption-based modelling.
  • Experience managing people - motivating, coaching, and developing technical or analytical staff.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and financial domains.
  • Skilled in FinOps and cloud management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, Azure Cost Management).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.



Desirable

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working within managed services, consulting, or large enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with automation, governance frameworks, and ITIL practices.
