About you
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role within the public sector
- Strong technical accounting expertise with knowledge of public sector financial reporting standards
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar)
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and develop strategic recommendations
What you'll do
- Lead the financial management processes, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within the public sector context
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Maintain adherence to statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements
- Contribute to strategic financial planning to support organisational objectives
- Lead and develop the finance team to achieve high performance and engagement
