About you

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role within the public sector
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with knowledge of public sector financial reporting standards
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and develop strategic recommendations

What you'll do

  • Lead the financial management processes, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within the public sector context
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Maintain adherence to statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements
  • Contribute to strategic financial planning to support organisational objectives
  • Lead and develop the finance team to achieve high performance and engagement
