The Client

VANRATH are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a Financial Controller on an interim basis for a thriving business based in the manufacturing sector. This role is based just outside of Belfast City Centre and requires someone to start quickly. While the role is initially for 6 months, the option of being considered for the permanent position with the business is also available to the successful candidate.

The role reports directly into the Finance Director, and you will oversee a small finance team based in the Belfast Office. Hybrid working is also an option but will be discussed in more detail at interview stage.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, key responsibilities will include:

• Provide strategic financial and commercial controls in relation to all aspects of their operations
• Ensure sound financial direction is provided re financial planning and business analysis
• Deliver monthly reporting and management accounts packs, including commentary and analysis, for key business stakeholders
• Ensure the finance team are well trained and deadlines are being met on time in relation to month end and year end strategic objectives

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria

• c.5+ years of experience in a Senior Accounting role
• Qualified accountant
• Knowledge and prior experience of complex finance systems
• Excellent understanding of accounting processes and controls
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
