Finance Manager (Manufacturing)

VANRATH have partnered with a leading manufacturing & distribution organisation to assist with the recruitment of an experienced Commercial Finance Manager. This organisation places immense value on their staff and focus on achieving excellence throughout the organisation.

The primary purpose of the role is to maintain a high level of financial control and to provide accurate, relevant and timely information, commentary and analysis on cost and factory performance. The postholder will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the manufacturing operation as well as the development of financial operations in the group as a member of the Finance Team. As Site Finance Manager, lead and motivate the Finance Team and champion the development of the ERP system.

The Role:

  • Lead the Finance team embracing the company culture, values and behaviours and create an environment of continuous improvement
  • Maintenance of effective management accounting controlled to an agreed minimum standard in the following areas:
    • accurate and timely monthly management accounts and forecasts
    • Stock records including monthly stock adjustment journals
    • Control and allocation of expenditure for factory operations
    • Intercompany sales invoice processing
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and process monthly salaried payroll journals
  • Fixed assets & CAPEX-maintain LPNI fixed asset register, prepare monthly CAPEX reports on spend to date, approved spend and spend timing
  • Ability to deal with a variety of ERP systems, the Group operates a number of ERP systems and under-standing similar outputs in varying formats is key
  • Key point of contact for external stakeholders including managing compliance with Revenue, government statistical returns and external audit
  • Proactive contribution to continuous improvement in all areas of the manufacturing operation and implementation of new processes and systems
  • Lead preparation of factory budget, reforecasting and, when required, Financial Planning process. Prepare and present consolidated site budget to Senior Executive team
  • Manage the butter logistics team effectively as they operate in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Training employees in other departments and across the group on financial control and cost issues
  • Work with other departments across the group to facilitate Invest NI grant applications

The Candidate:

  • Minimum 3 years PQE
  • Experience in completing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Strong experience in driving profitability through collaboration with commercial/operational teams
  • Experience of completing yearly statutory accounts
  • Experience in the timely completion of balance sheet reconciliation
  • Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines and cope under pressure
