VANRATH are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative utility provider based in Belfast to recruit a commercially astute Finance Manager to take on a pivotal role within the finance team.

Reporting to the General Manager the key responsibility of the Finance Manager will be to manage all financial aspects of the NI business

About you

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a 3 + years PQE ideally gained within utilities or a fast-paced commercial environment, QBE candidates will also be considered with relevant experience.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and systems experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

What you'll do

  • Manage the production of the NI annual budget and 5-year business plan and oversee the quarterly reporting of cost variances.
  • Management of all financial procedures, including updates and implementation.
  • Managing the monthly and year-end revenue re-distribution process
  • Reporting of information on financial performance and KPIs to the Governing Committee.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns and manage any correspondence with HMRC.
  • Manage the tariff setting and reconciliation process for NI transmission charges.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of bank accounts, cash flow and the revenue distribution process
  • Review and approve monthly transmission billing (both licence and code related) ensuring it is completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure the update and maintenance of Sage50 records of NI assets and liabilities.
  • Manage compliance with all regulatory and contractual procedures and policies for Audit purposes.
  • Provide support to the IT team on the functional specifications for any system developments related to charging or invoicing ensuring that implementation meets the requirements.
  • Manage and mentor the Commercial Analyst, complete performance reviews and assist in setting annual objectives.
