The Role
This successful candidate will assist in all aspects of financial management and report directly to the financial controller. The main requirement for this role is to ensure the financial position of the company is tracked accurately and financial reports are delivered accurately to senior management. Moreover, the Finance Manger will manage a team of two employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Weekly consolidation of Revenue for UK & US

  • Assisting with bi-weekly cash forecasts

  • Reviewing/approving bank payments

  • Month end preparation for USA division:
    • Management of fixed asset register
    • Accruals
    • Prepayments
    • Bank reconciliation
    • Reconciliation of Accrued Income schedule
    • Reconciliation of Deferred Income schedule
    • Reconciliation of intercompany balances and agreeing balances with other MSQ companies
    • Releasing third party projects costs
    • P&L and Balance sheet reporting for review by FC

  • Month end preparation for UK division:
    • Reconciliation of Accrued Income schedule for UK specific clients
    • Reconciliation of Deferred Income schedule for UK specific clients

  • Year End
    • Assisting with preparation of year-end audit files for both UK & USA.
    • Assisting with Revenue Recognition calculations for all open projects in line with 'IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition'

  • Assist Financial Controller in monthly financial reporting when required and work alongside other Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the finance department

  • Collating information for outsourced monthly Payroll

  • Quarterly VAT return preparing and reconciliation

  • Assisting with Pension Scheme Administration,

  • Identification and implementation of process improvement

  • Managing a team of two staff

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience and having worked in a similar role for at least 2 years. It is vital the successful individual has working knowledge of payroll and HMRC legislation, as well as a working knowledge of VAT. The successful individual will have the following:

  • ATI/ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • At least 2years experience in similar role
  • Working knowledge / recent experience of payroll and related HMRC legislation
  • Working knowledge / recent experience of VAT and related HMRC legislation
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Focused and methodical approach to managing work
  • Strong time management skills & ability to prioritise
  • Analytical and logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone & good team player
