Job description

Vanrath is proud to partner with a leading logistics and distribution business to recruit a Field Sales Representative (Agriculture). Supporting continued growth across Ireland, this role focuses on developing sales of agricultural consumables including animal feed, bedding products and solid fuels to farming customers and rural merchants.

This is a relationship-led field sales position combining account management, new business development and product support across the agricultural sector.


The Role

You will manage and grow a portfolio of agricultural customers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, acting as a trusted advisor on the company's product range. The position blends commercial sales activity with practical sector knowledge and ongoing customer support.

Working pattern:

  • Monday - Friday

  • Alternate Saturday mornings (half day)


Salary & Benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell agricultural products including feed, bedding and fuel solutions

  • Develop new business while managing existing farm and merchant accounts

  • Monitor market trends and identify emerging opportunities

  • Deliver against sales targets and agreed KPIs across territory

  • Liaise with production and supply teams regarding orders and stock requirements

  • Source raw straw and bedding materials from suppliers

  • Process sales documentation, invoices and credit accounts

  • Support customers with product knowledge and aftersales service


Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Experience working within the agricultural sector

  • Proven track record in sales, account management or commercial roles

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • Organised and capable of managing a regional territory

  • IT literate (MS Office and business systems)

  • Full, clean driving licence

Desirable:

  • Agricultural sales or agri-business development experience

  • Knowledge of rural Northern Ireland geography and farming communities

  • Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Sales, or Marketing
