ERP Systems Accountant (Sage 200)

VanRath are exclusively recruiting for a Systems Accountant on a long-term, temporary basis for a large organisation based in the Greater Belfast area. This project is to oversee the financial aspects of the implementation of Sage 200 across their business and is a high-profile role for any systems accountant keen to add a challenging new achievement to their CV. This role will commence within a short turnaround time and will provide an exciting challenge for the successful candidate. The role will be on a hybrid-working basis and will offer the possibility of extension well beyond the initial time frames, as is typical with such projects. Remuneration has been loosely set at a level to attract the strongest options in the local market and our client are renowned to pay ahead of market rate.


Responsibilities

Working closely with the Finance and Project Management Team, the role will involve:

  • Work in collaboration to deliver the system implementation project to schedule including; defining requirements, providing solutions, building and testing, and delivery of Go Live and Post-Go Live
  • Ongoing improvements and enhancements to system efficiencies and processes, controls and management reporting outputs
  • Training and liaison with current staff on new system during and after roll-out phase
  • Work tightly with stakeholders to provide support and ensure timely delivery of all reporting requirements are met
  • Complete assessment of current Sage usage in both Crucials and 3V
  • Revisit assessments made and liaise with suppliers to understand current best practice for Sage

  • Work with stakeholders to create future vision for Sage in each business unit, ensuring commonality in chart of accounts and processes and ways of working where possible

  • Translate the vision to a financial business case and present same to Group board for approval and build detailed plan for delivery in conjunction with stakeholders

  • Put appropriate governance in place to ensure that plan timelines are adhered to and that there are regular project updates/meetings etc involving the key stakeholders

  • Deliver project to plan timelines and within agreed financial parameters

The Ideal Person:

  • Qualified Accountant or similar level with recent experience/involvement in a similar role, i.e. assisting in the delivery of complex, large scale ERP transformation/change and improvement projects (prior experience of Sage 200 is essential)
  • Reliable, Innovative and Responsible type - self-starter, good problem solver and communicator
  • Advanced IT skills essential
  • Proven diplomacy, influencing and communication skills in a similar environment
  • Commercially aware and highest attention to detail
