Environmental Health Officer- LARNE PORT

Are you looking for a Environmental Health Officer role? Interested in working for a large public body for a period of 12+ months with a possible extension.?

VANRATH are recruiting a Environmental Health Officer-LARNE PORT to Implement Point of Entry (POE) Sanitary and Phytosanitary controls for Port (MEABC) and be accountable for documentary, identity and physical checks.

Remuneration:

c£30,507, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

The Ideal Person

Applicants must have a degree in Environmental Health and hold membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

AND

Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have experience:

* in a local government Environmental Health role,

* in applying knowledge and understanding of current Environmental Health related legislation to determine compliance,

* in successfully enforcing and remedying breaches;

* in forming effective and professional relationships with stakeholders including business owners, statutory agencies and members of the public.

Competence in the use of Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a car

or

Have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post

Responsibilities

Implement Point of Entry (POE) Sanitary and Phytosanitary controls for Port (MEABC) and be accountable for documentary identity and physical checks on:

  • Fish and Fishery Products (Product of Animal Origin) for human consumption
  • Products of Non Animal Origin (NAO)
  • Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported Fish Controls
  • Organic Imports
  • Materials in Contact with Food.

Carry out the appropriate inspection; investigation; assessment or activity within defined Environmental Health functions. The remit of this post may cover one or more of the service areas below in the first instance. However, the post holder may be required to provide/develop expertise in any area listed as required to meet the needs of the service:
