Engineering Supervisor
📍 Downpatrick | 💰 £53,000 - £54,000 | ⏰ Shift Rota (including nights & weekends)
A well-established food manufacturer in Downpatrick is looking for two Engineering Supervisors to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced maintenance professionals to step into a leadership role, with one vacancy arising due to retirement.
The Role:
As an Engineering Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment by effectively managing engineering resources. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:
✅ Leading shift-based engineering activities and ensuring all maintenance work is completed efficiently.
✅ Coordinating with Production Teams to minimise downtime and resolve issues promptly.
✅ Managing workloads to balance planned maintenance with urgent repairs.
✅ Enforcing Health & Safety policies, including Permit to Work, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), and PPE compliance.
✅ Providing leadership, guidance, and support to the engineering team during shifts.
✅ Working within a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
What You'll Need:
✔ Experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment, ideally within food production.
✔ Strong background in planned and reactive maintenance within a fast-paced production setting.
✔ Solid understanding of Health & Safety protocols related to maintenance and engineering.
✔ Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team while maintaining high performance standards.
✔ Flexibility to work a rotational shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
