An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Employment Law Solicitor to join a respected Belfast practice known for its strong commitment to employee-side representation. The firm specialises in advising and supporting individuals, workers, and trade union members across the full spectrum of employment law issues, delivering high-quality advocacy, clear advice, and exceptional client care.

The Role
You will manage a varied and meaningful caseload, supporting clients facing complex workplace issues while working closely with a knowledgeable and well-seasoned team of employment law specialists.
Key responsibilities include:
Advising clients on unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination, equal pay, harassment, redundancy, grievances and disciplinaries, TUPE, contractual disputes, working time, and related matters
Representing clients in Employment Tribunal claims and associated litigation
Providing advice on settlement agreements, negotiation strategies, and trade union-related matters, including industrial action ballots, recognition disputes, and constitutional issues
Building strong, trusted relationships with clients, including individuals and union members, ensuring clear communication and a high standard of service
Supporting the continued growth and reputation of the employment law offering through professional representation and client engagement
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Qualification as a Solicitor (NI or England & Wales), with experience in employment law and tribunal advocacy
Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters
Excellent communication skills and empathy, with a genuine commitment to employee-side representation
Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement
