Electrician (Public Sector)

Are you looking for a Electrician role? Interested in working for one of N.I. largest Public Sector organisations?

VANRATH are recruiting a Electrician to maintain and repair company vehicles in addition to minor plant equipment work.

Remuneration:
c£30,000, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

Our client is one of the largest Public Sector organisations in NI.

The Ideal Person
Essential

  • Recognised Auto Electrical apprenticeship experience working on commercial vehicles
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade or discipline
  • Ability to work with diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to produce sound safe work
  • Awareness of Health & Safety at work.
  • Full current driving license.
  • Flexible attitude to work and working hours with ability to work additional hours when required or at short notice.
  • Available for call out
  • Ability to obtain a PCV license



Desirable

  • Experience of working as a skilled tradesperson on buses and/or coaches
  • Experience of using IT packages
  • Relevant qualification or training relating to a workshop environment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical aspects of electrical interfaces
  • Possess PCV Licence



Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain and prepare bus fleet to PCV standards
  • Test, diagnose faults and rectify defects on vehicle electrical systems.
  • Remove and replace vehicle electrical components.
  • Minor depot plant electrical equipment repair.
  • All administration associated with the post.
  • Any other duty as requested by the Depot Engineer/Engineering Supervisor.
