Our client, a leading organisation in the M&E sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector (Clerk of Works) to join their Project Delivery team. This is a key site-based role supporting a range of building services and infrastructure upgrade projects across commercial and industrial schemes.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring electrical installations are compliant, safe, and completed to the highest quality standards.
Carry out regular inspections across multiple construction and M&E project sites
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, H&S standards, and M&E contract specifications
Record detailed site observations and submit accurate weekly inspection reports
Monitor materials, equipment, and workmanship throughout the installation process
Collaborate with Project Managers, Contract Administrators, and engineering teams to address variations, defects, and risks
Support with project measurements, handover processes, and final commissioning reports
Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
A degree in an M&E, construction, or technical discipline plus 2 years' post-qualification experience, or
A BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma in a relevant technical field plus 3 years' practical experience, or
A minimum of 4 years' direct experience in electrical inspection, installation, or site-based M&E work (in the absence of formal qualifications)
Additionally, you must demonstrate:
Excellent technical reporting and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to interpret current electrical regulations and apply sound judgement on site
Proven track record in collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams
Familiarity with BS 7671 (18th Edition) electrical wiring regulations
Competency with Microsoft Office, digital site reporting tools, and mobile inspection apps
A valid UK driving licence and access to personal transport
