Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Limavady
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

A leading engineering organisation specialising in low-voltage electrical systems is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Limavady.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing engineering division that delivers complex, high-quality electrical solutions for the global data centre market. You'll play a key role in the design and delivery of bespoke LV switchgear systems, working from concept through to manufacture, and collaborating with international clients and internal engineering teams.
The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating detailed electrical designs and schematics that meet technical specifications, compliance standards, and manufacturing requirements. You'll work across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and innovation in every design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop LV switchgear and control panel solutions in line with project specifications and client requirements.
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
- Interpret client single-line diagrams and convert them into manufacturable designs.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant IEC standards and internal quality procedures.
- Liaise directly with clients, providing design markups and implementing updates as required.
- Support the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and workflows.
About You
Essential:
- Qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (HNC, Degree, or equivalent).
- Proficient in EPLAN or equivalent electrical design software.
- Experience using AutoCAD 2D for electrical drawings.
Desirable:
- Experience in switchgear design or LV/MV systems.
- Working knowledge of IEC 61439 and related standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
