Senior Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineers
Location: Dungannon
Contract: Permanent
Industry: Heavy Machinery / Capital Equipment Manufacturing
A large, well-established machinery manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon is seeking experienced Senior Mechanical and Senior Electrical Design Engineers to join its design and engineering function.
These are influential, hands-on leadership roles, combining technical design expertise with team leadership responsibility, supporting the development of complex machinery and engineered systems for global markets.
The Role:
- Lead the mechanical or electrical design of complex machinery and systems
- Produce and review detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of design engineers
- Oversee project delivery from concept through to manufacture and commissioning
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, regulatory, and quality requirements
- Work closely with manufacturing, projects, and supply chain teams
- Support continuous improvement in design standards, processes, and systems
- Contribute to technical decision-making and design strategy
What We're Looking For:
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a design engineering role
- Previous experience managing or leading a design team
- Background in heavy machinery, capital equipment, or complex manufacturing environments
- Strong proficiency with relevant CAD and design tools
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture (DFM)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
