Are you an experienced Economist / Economic Analyst looking for an exciting opportunity to join a growing business in Belfast City Centre?

VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with our client, a Public Sector economic think-tank, in their search for passionate graduates with experience in Business/Economics.


The role
Full Time | 37.5 hours per week
Mon-Fri | Office Based
Benefits and Holiday Allowance
£40,000 - £50,000 (under review)


Key responsibilities
Working as a central member of the team and business, the successful candidate will provide senior research and analytical support from conception to completion of projects. This is to include:

  • Undertake comprehensive desk research and produce literature reviews / reports to a high standard.
  • Support and collaborate in the design, administration and analysis of quantitative and qualitative primary research.
  • Provide research and contributions to produce bids for new contracts.
  • Undertake data collection, cleaning and analytical tasks to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain excellent communication in respect of both workload / resourcing and analytical progress.
  • Work effectively as art of a collaborative team, as an essential member of the business.



The ideal candidate Hold a degree in business / economics relevant discipline

AND

Demonstrate experience across the following areas:

  • Public policy related qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Strong analytical reporting capability.
  • Proficient understanding of economic concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience of policy development process.
  • Analytical reporting capabilities.
  • Understanding of the policy development process.
  • Familiarity with the relevant software and willingness to train in the use of other data science, analytical and visualisation software.
  • Highly proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong understanding of client relationship management.
  • Ability to travel and work collaboratively and on own initiative, under pressure.

*Consideration will be given to candidates who hold a degree where Economics / Business were not a main component but who can demonstrate transferrable knowledge and comprehensive experience in the above.
