Economic Development Officer - Regeneration

Job Description

This is a long-term opportunity within a busy public sector Economic Development team, requiring a candidate with strong experience in Rural Development, Regeneration, Infrastructure and Capital Projects.

Employment Package

  • £31,895 - £34,373 starting salary
  • Full-Time, Mon-Fri, 37 hrs per week
  • 12-month contract with potential to extend
  • Full annual leave entitlement up to 37 days

Candidate profile...
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:

  1. Possess a relevent third level qualification (e.g. economic development or a closely related discipline)
  2. A minimum of 3 years' experience in the following:
      • Assisting in the planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of a portfolio of projects through development and delivery of a strategic plan.
      • Budget Management in excess of £100,000 per annum.
      • Working in partnership with other agencies and organisations to deliver projects
      • Delivery of capital projects in the Built Environment
      • Delivery of projects involving public or European funding
      • Ability to pro-actively deal with contentious and complex issues within a community context during delivery of strategic projects.
      • Experience of contract management and appropriate procurement of goods and services.
      • Access to a form of transport to fulfil the duties of the post.


Overview of responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will support the Regeneration & Infrastructure Manager and wider Economic Development team, in the management and delivery of a portfolio of complex Regeneration & Infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with the implementation and project management of the Organisation's strategic programme activity.
  • Work with appropriate partner organisations and groups to enhance the delivery of rural Regeneration & Infrastructure projects.
  • Assist senior management to monitor income and expenditure targets set and in assessing and controlling these against programme performance.
