Digital Media Officer (Immediate Start)

Job Description

VANRATH is recruiting a temporary Digital Media Officer for a large Public Sector organisation based in Lisburn. This is an immediate start for an initial duration of 3 months with possible further extension.

Responsibilities

To work within the Corporate Communications Department to provide an effective and efficient digital and graphic design support service.

To contribute as an integral member of the team to the provision of a modern professional and responsive service to support the vision and mission of the organisation as outlined below:

  • To provide an effective and efficient digital and graphic design to assist in the house provision support service for the Organisation.
  • To provide photography and videography services for the Organisation by attending events, photocalls and operational incidents as required. To be responsible for video editing, production and to work closely with Corporate Communications Department on final production.
  • As part of the Corporate Communications Department work to generate creative ideas for photography / videography concepts and agree final concepts in support of corporate messaging, PR, campaigns and internal communications.
  • To ensure appropriate data protection permissions are gathered and recorded in relation to all photography/video content and to maintain the permission database in-line with GDPR and the Organisation Data Protection Policies.
  • To develop and maintain the the Organisation digital photography library, ensure appropriate cataloguing of images and control release of images under GDPR and to comply with other the Organisation policies.
  • To provide photography and graphic design services for the Organisation across a range of printed and digital materials to support corporate objectives e.g. social media platforms, e-zines, posters, leaflets, brochures, corporate banners etc, as required. To provide graphic design support and photography for the Organisation marketing materials.
  • Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the provision of digital media services, and attend other business meetings as required.

Candidate

Essential:

  1. Possess a minimum of 5 GCSE's at 'A', 'B', or 'C' grades or equivalent (including English Language and Mathematics).
  1. Have at least two years' experience working in a digital or design environment to include:

a) Photography skills - creative concepts
b) Videography skills - creative concepts and technical editing/production skills
c) Design skills -graphic design capability using appropriate software packages e.g. Adobe, InDesign, Apple packages
d) Website - knowledge of website content management programmes

  1. A working knowledge of MS Windows and other Microsoft applications.
  2. Can demonstrate:

a) effective planning, organisation, prioritising skills and attention to detail;
b) the ability to work individually and as part of a team;
c) effective communication skills (both oral and written);
d) a customer service orientation.

  1. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.


Desirable:

  1. Experience of working in the public sector.
