Delivery Manager ( Technical Background )

Job Description

We're currently seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to join our client's world class software team within e-commerce & insurance. The ideal candidate should have a proven history of effectively guiding complex software projects from initiation to completion.

As the Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of various software projects, ensuring they're completed on time, within budget, and meeting client specifications to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, assisting in defining project scope, objectives, and outcomes.
  • Creating detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitoring project progress.
  • Coordinating resources to ensure project goals are met within timelines, budget limits, and KPIs.
  • Facilitating collaboration between product management and development teams.
  • Managing project risks and implementing contingency plans.
  • Keeping stakeholders informed of project statuses, risks, and issues.
  • Cultivating a collaborative team environment and providing guidance to team members.
  • Ensuring adherence to project management standards and seeking process improvements.
  • Incorporating insights from past projects to improve delivery.
  • Mentoring junior team members and handling additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science or relative IT focused degree
  • Prince/PMP or equivalent project management certification

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8+ years of software industry experience, with at least 5 years in Software Project Management.
  • Strong technical awareness
  • Experience in a technical role at some point in the past (Developer, Engineer, Tester)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects within timelines and budgets.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Understanding of web architecture and development principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other iterative development methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to senior groups.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a capacity for self-education.
