Data Visualization- Director level (Healthcare Industry)

My client are a leading healthcare company that provides data analytics and consulting services to help pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies optimize patient testing and treatment pathways.

Their data-driven solutions enable better patient outcomes by improving the diagnostic testing process for patients with complex diseases. They are seeking a talented Data Visualization Director to join their belfast based team and help drive their data visualization capabilities to the next level.

Job Description:

As the Data Visualization Director, you will be responsible for leading our data visualization team and driving the development of cutting-edge data visualizations that effectively communicate complex data insights to our clients. You will work closely with their data scientists, software developers, and client services teams to design and implement compelling data visualizations that help their clients make informed decisions about their patient testing and treatment strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the data visualization team in the development of high-quality data visualizations that effectively communicate complex data insights to our clients.
• Work closely with our data scientists, software developers, and client services teams to ensure that data visualizations are aligned with our clients' needs and goals.
• Develop and maintain best practices for data visualization design, including the use of color, typography, layout, and interactivity.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in data visualization, and incorporate them into our data visualization strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data visualizations are integrated seamlessly into our software applications and workflows.
• Manage and mentor a team of data visualization designers and developers, providing guidance and feedback on their work.

Required experience:

• Proven success in efficient dashboard delivery, translating complex client questions into clear, insightful and efficient data visualizations.
• Proven knowledge and skills using reporting software (e.g. Tableau/Power BI or similar tools), SQL-based database queries, programming languages for analysis (e.g. R, Python, XML, Javascript), and data preparation tools (e.g. KNIME)
• Working understanding of pharmacy, EHR, claims, and lab data and how commercial pharmaceutical functions can use these data sets.
• Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills to drive successful outcomes with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
• Proven self-starter ability, with evidence of having worked independently and on your own initiative at a senior level to drive successful outcomes.
• Ability to embrace and manage work in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel ad hoc to meet the role's needs.

Minimum 2 years of:

• Inspirational leadership of teams working in challenging and complex work environments where your leadership style has had a transformational impact on excellent dashboard delivery to clients.
• Experience in scaling and digital transformation of data analytics in a SaaS or platform setting.
• Proven experience in successfully leading highly-engaged teams in a remote environment, including strategic planning and operational execution.
