Data Analyst (Healthcare industry)

Job Description

My client is a company that specializes in data analytics and implementation services for the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries.

Their main goal is to integrate diagnostic testing into clinical pathways, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize testing strategies. This ultimately leads to improved patient outcomes and ensures timely and appropriate treatment.

They operate globally, collaborating with healthcare stakeholders like physicians, payers, and patients to ensure access to high-quality diagnostic testing.

Currently, they are seeking a Data Visualization Analyst to join their expanding team. This role, as a member of the Analyst Team, requires a strong analytical mindset and experience in advanced analytics to provide insights supporting pharmaceutical commercialization.

The Analyst will collaborate with internal teams and client accounts to conduct analytics across projects and generate valuable insights. They will work with a database, extracting and manipulating data from various sources for analytics, including segmentation, to produce insights. The Analyst will also collaborate to ensure clients maximize the value of the company's analytics platform and products.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Collaborating cross-functionally in project teams to deliver client projects within deadlines.
  2. Translating clients' requirements into data strategies that deliver actionable insights.
  3. Managing complex healthcare data on a large scale.
  4. Establishing standards for working with a platform-based approach.

Furthermore, the role requires expertise in SQL-based database queries, proficiency in programming languages for analysis (e.g., R, Python, XML, JavaScript), ensuring data quality, and collaborating with other teams for smooth company operations.

The successful candidate should possess:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in statistics, computer science, informatics, mathematics, or a related scientific field (additional PhD, MSc, or MBA degree preferred).
  2. At least 3 years of experience working with healthcare data to support pharmaceutical companies, including analytics like segmentation and targeting.
  3. Proficiency in relational database querying using SQL and data wrangling with tools such as KNIME for managing complex data.
  4. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Proven expertise in data preparation tools (e.g., KNIME), SQL-based database queries, programming languages for analysis (e.g., R, Python, XML, JavaScript), and reporting software (e.g., Tableau/Power BI or similar tools).
  2. Understanding of pharmacy, EHR, claims, and lab data, and their utilization in commercial pharmaceutical functions.
  3. Demonstrated curiosity for data exploration and a willingness to employ new analytical methods to address clients' business questions.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  5. Self-starting ability, with evidence of working independently and taking initiative.
  6. Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment.
  7. Willingness to travel as needed for the role.
