Cost Manager (Consultancy) - Belfast
About the Company
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Manager to join a well-established and respected consultancy within their expanding Cost Management function in Belfast.
The consultancy is involved in delivering complex, high-profile developments across the built environment, working with a broad range of clients including residential (public and private), education (including higher education), retail, government, and other major real estate sectors. Candidate Profile
Experience
You will have demonstrable experience within a consultancy setting and be confident taking ownership of your own projects. Your background will include proven technical expertise in cost management / quantity surveying, experience delivering projects across comparable real estate sectors, and previous roles as a Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor within consultancy. Employer's Agent experience is advantageous but not required. You will also bring excellent client-facing capabilities, a strong focus on technical excellence, and confidence working with stakeholders to build long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
You will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related RICS-accredited discipline and be actively progressing toward RICS chartership or a similar professional qualification.

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be central to managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from early stages through to completion. Responsibilities will include leading cost management activities from initial design through project delivery, overseeing contractor selection, appointment, and management processes, and full participation in cost planning, monitoring, and control. You will produce early-stage cost estimates, budgets, and financial appraisals, advise clients on suitable procurement routes, prepare and issue tender documentation, and provide comprehensive pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Salary, Benefits & Career Development
The role offers a salary of up to £40,000 per annum and a hybrid working model with two days in the office and three days working from home.
