About you

  • A university degree or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 2 years' experience in:

  • a) leading work streams which demonstrate specialist knowledge in the application of equality legislation or

  • b) leading stakeholder involvement and consultation processes in respect of organisational policy.

OR

  • A diploma or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 3 years' experience in:

  • a) leading work streams which demonstrate specialist knowledge in the application of equality legislation or

  • b) leading stakeholder involvement and formal consultation processes in respect of organisational policy.

  • A minimum of one years' experience in the development and delivery of training and/or presentations.

  • A sound working knowledge of Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 including requirements for public sector organisations and related processes.

  • Hold a current full driving licence and/or * have access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to meet the post requirements in full.

What you'll do

  • To manage and monitor implementation of the organisation's Equality Scheme and Disability Action Plan.

  • To develop systems of engagement with key stakeholders including service users.

  • To support the Assistant Director in the management of policy screening and Equality Impact Assessment within the organisation.

  • To undertake benchmarking and research activities.

  • To deliver training related to Equality and Human Rights including Senior Managers.

  • To produce management reports including statutory progress reports for submission.

  • To work with colleagues in the development and implementation of systems to ensure compliance with duties under the Disability Discrimination Act.
