Job description

Construction Project Manager (Consultancy Only)

Client
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Construction Project Manager to join a professional consultancy team based in their Belfast office, delivering a varied portfolio of commercial developments and historic building projects across the UK and Ireland. This role is strictly within a consultancy environment. The business offers a collaborative, close-knit team environment with exposure to interesting, technically diverse projects. Hybrid working is considered, offering flexibility alongside professional consultancy delivery.

The Role
As Construction Project Manager, you will operate exclusively within a consultancy setting, managing construction projects from inception through to completion and delivering full pre- and post-contract Project Management services on behalf of clients. The role offers autonomy, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to work across both modern commercial schemes and heritage-led projects with appropriate support from senior consultancy colleagues.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include liaising with clients, fellow consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure project information, costs, value and delivery align with client requirements, production of Employer's Requirements, contract administration duties undertaken in a consultancy capacity, chairing and minuting project meetings, management of value engineering workshops, undertaking site and works inspections during construction, and inspection of works upon completion on behalf of the client.

The Ideal Person
You will hold a third-level qualification in Project Management or a construction-related discipline and have a minimum of 5+ years' experience delivering construction projects within a consultancy or client-advisory environment. Candidates from transferable backgrounds including Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or contractor-side Project Management are welcomed, provided you are currently operating, or seeking to operate, in a professional consultancy role with client-facing project delivery experience. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project. Applicants must have experience delivering construction projects in a consultancy capacity and be eligible to work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria
Experience or a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Estimating would be advantageous within a consultancy setting.

Remuneration
Up to £55,000+ DOE plus a competitive benefits package, with hybrid working considered.
