VANRATH are partnered with a highly reputable engineering business based in South Belfast, in their recruitment of a Company Accountant. The Company Accountant will be covering a period of long-term sickness, and will report directly to the Managing Director, taking responsibility for the full financial operations.

This role is suitable for both Qualified & Qualified by Experience Accountants, with proven experience in preparing management accounts to trial balance, along with supervisory experience. The Company Accountant will oversee a small finance team, ensuring all transactions are processed in line with agreed timescales.

This is an urgent posting and is offering the opportunity for an immediate start.

About you

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant
• Strong IT skills, including Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
• Supervisory experience
• Available at short notice

What you'll do

• Produce monthly management accounts
• Assist with the production of annual financial accounts
• Prepare balance sheet recs, budgets/forecasts
• Supervise small finance team
• Review and submit payment runs
• Act as point of escalation for finance team
