Commercial Contracts Solicitor (In-House) - Belfast
We are currently partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to appoint a Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join their in-house legal team in Belfast.
This is a fantastic opportunity to move into (or further develop within) an in-house environment, working on a broad range of commercial matters in a fast-paced and innovative business. The role offers exposure to high-value contracts, evolving regulatory landscapes and emerging areas of technology.
The Role
This position will involve working closely with internal stakeholders across the business, providing practical and commercially focused legal advice on a wide variety of matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements
- Advising on contractual, legal and regulatory issues impacting the business
- Supporting key business projects and strategic initiatives
- Identifying and managing legal and commercial risk
- Liaising with external counsel where required
- Contributing to governance, compliance and internal process improvements
You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to sector-specific legal issues and emerging areas such as technology, data and regulatory developments.
The Candidate
This role would suit a commercially minded solicitor who enjoys working closely with the business and taking a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving.
You will ideally:
- Have 5+ years' PQE with experience in commercial contracts
- Possess strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Be confident advising stakeholders across different business areas
- Have a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Be comfortable managing your own workload in a dynamic environment
Experience in-house or exposure to sectors such as technology, infrastructure or regulated industries would be advantageous, but not essential.
