VANRATH are recruiting a Coach Builder/Mechanic to maintain and repair all body and structural aspects of a vehicle, carry out vehicle inspections and associated administrative duties. This role will initially be a 6 month contract with great likelihood of being extended

Remuneration:
c£30,000, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

Our client is one of the largest Public Sector organisations in NI.

The Ideal Person
Essential

• Minimum of 2 years' post apprenticeship experience in a similar role.
• Recognised Vehicle Apprenticeship with minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade or discipline.
• Diagnostic ability where applicable.
• Flexible attitude to work and working hours with ability to work additional hours when required or at short notice

Desirable

• Experience in a similar role working on commercial vehicles.
• Relevant engineering experience on buses and/or coaches.
• Possess large vehicle licence, preferably a PCV licence.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and prepare Client's fleet to PCV standards
• Test operation, diagnose faults and rectify defects on vehicle systems as appropriate
• Remove and replace vehicle components as appropriate
• Perform accident repair
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns as appropriate
• Complete administrative duties associated with the post
• Other appropriate duties
