Caretaker (Public Sector)

Are you looking for a Caretaker role? Interested in working for a large public body for a period of 3+ months with a possible extension.

Remuneration:
c£23,562, alongside holiday entitlement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve, in a manner and dress appropriate to the function, light refreshments to the various functions which may take place in the complex.
  • Organise and prepare for ceremonial occasions and Council ceremonies with particular responsibilities for the ceremonial arefacs such as chains of office, chamber mace and members robes.
  • Provide assistance to the Mayor or Councillors as required, including occasional ceremonial duties.
  • Welcoming and directing visitors within the Town Hall/Civic Centre complex to the appropriate venue and to maintain a neat and clean appearance to promote the good image of the Council.
  • Prepare and clean rooms for meetings/events as required and to monitor the electronic booking system ensuring all booking terms are complied with and rooms cleared properly after events.
  • Carry out daily routine duties involving the cleaning, and deep cleaning when necessary, to Town Hall/Civic Centre complex.
  • Undertake all aspects of security including the opening and closing of all Town Hall and Civic Centre complex and to act as key holder of all buildings and assist the emergency services as required.
  • In case of emergency by prepared to work at short notice and irregular hours to aid Council emergency response requirements.

The Ideal Person
Have a minimum of six months experience to include all of the following:-

  • Use of industrial/commercial cleaning equipment
  • Keyholder and securing premises
  • Dealing with members of the public
  • Carrying out administrative duties

Must be available to work outside shift rota, at weekends, evenings, public holidays, irregular/unsocial hours. Due to the keyholder responsibility of this post must be able to attend emergency call out's within 15 minutes when rotated to cover.
