We're currently supporting a forward-thinking public sector organisation in their search for a Capital Projects Design/Development Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in project delivery within the built environment who is looking to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact on the local community.
The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated Capital Projects team, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation and beyond to deliver capital developments from design through to completion.
Support the planning and delivery of capital projects in line with strategic and regulatory frameworks.
Prepare project briefs, tender documents and manage contracts.
Monitor project costs, timelines and quality, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procurement policies.
Provide technical and cost management advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with internal and external teams, contractors, consultants and community stakeholders.
Assist in managing risk, reporting on performance and ensuring that all health and safety legislation is adhered to.
Contribute to funding applications and ensure projects meet relevant conditions and statutory approvals.
A degree or equivalent qualification in a built environment discipline or full membership of a relevant professional body (or willingness to work towards it).
At least 2 years of recent experience managing capital projects in a client-side environment.
Solid understanding of tendering, procurement, and contract management.
Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Knowledge of project management software (e.g. MS Project), health and safety regulations, and modern forms of contract.
A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems and quality assurance frameworks.
