My client:
VANRATH are pleased to be recruiting for a Qualified Accountant to join an NICS ALB in Greater Belfast who are looking to someone to their team in a Capital Accountant capacity on a permanent basis. Ideally this role would suit someone with noteworthy experience at the qualified level within the public sector but allowance will be made for a high calibre recently qualified accountant who can pick things up quickly. This role would also be ideal for a Newly Qualified Accountant looking to get public sector, hands on experience.
The role itself will present a challenging and stimulating assignment for any accountant keen to enhance their CV and career prospects moving forward.
The Role:
- Manage the day to day accounting for ongoing Capital Investment and Fixed Assets
- Oversight of Fixed Asset Management accounting system and appropriate accounting of capital spend, depreciation, revaluations, impairments and disposals
- Liaising with Land & Property Services to arrange annual valuation of Land & Buildings
- Engaging with external audit in the verification of Fixed Assets
- Leading Preparation of the monthly Capital Consumption Return to the Department
- Engagement with Capital Budget Holders & relevant managers
- Overseeing accounting for other restricted income sources i.e. 3rd Party Grant Funded Projects
- Leading on all tasks relating to year end financial accounting for fixed assets and associated reserves
The Ideal Candidate:
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), part-qualified will also be considered.
- Experience of operating within a medium to large organisation
- Experience of producing management accounts including full profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet reviews
- Experience of managing Company bank accounts including reconciliation, balance sheet reporting and cash flow
- Experience of Microsoft products, particularly Excel spread sheets
Remuneration:
c.£35-40k.
