VANRATH are recruiting a CAD Technician to work a leading Façade Contractor based near Belfast.

Remuneration:
£30,000 - £35,000 + DOE + package

Our client are a leading Façade Contractor with a great reputation built over the last few decades. They have a proven track record of exceeding their clients expectations, providing high level façade solutions.

The business is growing from strength to strength with a large order book secured for the long term. Due to this, they have an excellent opportunity for a CAD Technician to join them on a permanent basis, based in their offices near Belfast.

The Opportunity:
The CAD Technician will be a key member of the Design Team reporting to the Design Manager, working within the project design team under the guidance of the Technical Director.

The successful person will create quality, accurate drawings and provide technical information for submission in order to meet clients' requirements, playing an important role within a growing team, continuously building on skills and knowledge with a view to progressing up the ladder within the team.

Key Tasks:

  • Play a key role within the Design team providing clear and concise information required for the client approval and installation of the project
  • Review product specifications, tender specifications and BOQs
  • Produce working drawings in line with the project Specification and tender submittal using AutoCAD / Revit software
  • Work closely with the Design Manager and Senior Designer highlighting when individual tasks are completed in line with the project programme and highlight any issues that could delay the submittal of information
  • Liaison and coordination with 3rd party project design team, Architects, Main contractors & Consultants
  • Creation of external Request for Information submittals and internal Potential Variations to the tendered Scope of Work
  • Create information for submittal throughout the project approval stage to meet the Design intent to a high quality standard while incorporating all regulations / standards, customer requirements while in line with the Tender submission and Design office policy's
  • Meet agreed deadlines and managing time to meet programme
  • Check the quality and accuracy of your own work prior to final internal QA check by the Design Manager or Lead Designer
  • Work on defined tasks under limited supervision with some autonomy
  • Attendance at site meetings and technical meetings for each project when necessary
  • Compile material Schedules and fabrication drawings for purchasing of external manufacturing in line with dates indicated on the procurement schedule
  • Create site information packages which are clear and concise for the installation stage of the project. If required provide Toolbox Talk with site team to give an understanding of the information provided


The Ideal Person:

  • Relevant industry qualification is ideal
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with AutoCAD
  • Experience with Revit and / or other similar software
  • Familiarity with glazing and cladding specific standards and relevant Building Regulations is ideal
  • Technically competent and self motivated
  • Facades / Architectural Glazing experience is advantageous
