Working Hours: Monday to Friday - no weekend work
Location: Based full-time in Belfast HQ

Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing process for building and engineering projects. The role requires a strong balance of commercial awareness, supplier management, and operational support to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Duties

Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors

  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery schedules to maximise value

  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to support business growth

Purchasing & Logistics

  • Raise, process, and track purchase orders to align with project requirements

  • Monitor stock levels and deliveries to avoid project delays

  • Resolve discrepancies in supply, quality, or invoicing

Financial Oversight

  • Support accurate budget forecasting and cost monitoring

  • Conduct bench marking and market analysis to identify savings

  • Recommend improvements to reduce spend without reducing quality

Collaboration & Support

  • Liaise with engineers, project managers, and commercial teams to align procurement needs

  • Share updates on supplier performance and supply chain risks

  • Assist with planning for upcoming projects and tender submissions

Governance & Reporting

  • Ensure all procurement activity follows company policy and compliance standards

  • Maintain up-to-date records of contracts, supplier agreements, and transactions

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in procurement or buying within engineering, construction, or M&E environments

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

  • Proven ability to work within budget and meet tight deadlines

  • Commercially aware with excellent communication and organisational skills
