Business Support Officer (Finance & Risk Assurance)

Job Description

Advantageous opportunity for a candidate experienced in financial management, risk assurance and governance? to join a large Public Sector organisation based in Belfast.

Employment Package

  • £40k starting salary (negotiable through VANRATH)
  • Full-Time, Mon-Fri, 37 hrs per week
  • 12-month contract with potential to extend
  • Full annual leave entitlement up to 37 days

Candidate profile:

Hold a university degree in or equivalent in a relevant discipline

AND

Possess at least 3 years experience working in a middle management capacity in an Organisational Development, Business Support environment, including Public Sector governance frameworks.

PLUS

  • Working knowledge of business systems to include finance, risk assurance, governance and performance management systems.
  • Have worked with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Experience of financial management, audit and reporting on budgets.
  • Ability to communicate complex and contentious information effectively, both orally and in writing


Summary of the role:

The successful candidate will be required to Support the Organisation's strategic planning, performance management and corporate governance processes. Maintain effective relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Support the finance activities for the Organisation, including budget management, forecasting, preparing and presenting finance reports. Research and prepare business cases. Ensure that the Organisation has high quality and cost effective support systems. Work within the Organisation's wider framework to ensure that all business and contract matters are expedited quickly and to the highest standard.
