Business Development & Account Manager - NI / UK Travel

A progressive organisation operating across Northern Ireland and Great Britain is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager as part of its continued commercial growth. The company delivers specialist technical and project-based services to a diverse client base and is now expanding its sales function.

This position will suit an ambitious sales professional who enjoys developing long-term partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions for clients + account managing.

Role Summary

Reporting into the commercial leadership team, the successful individual will play a key role in driving new client acquisition while nurturing and expanding existing customer relationships. The position is primarily field-based and involves travel across assigned territories within Northern Ireland and occasionally the wider UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your designated region

  • Manage existing client relationships, ensuring high levels of engagement and retention

  • Conduct meetings with prospective and current clients both in person and via virtual platforms

  • Represent the organisation at industry exhibitions, networking events, and customer presentations

  • Monitor competitor activity and wider market trends to highlight potential growth areas

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline activity within the CRM system

  • Work closely with internal technical and operational teams to deliver bespoke client solutions

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of sales processes and customer engagement strategies

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management roles

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation ability

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a regional client portfolio

  • Comfortable working with CRM systems and standard business software

  • Willingness to travel across Northern Ireland and occasionally the UK

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience within a technical, engineering, industrial, or project-led sector

  • Previous collaboration with engineering or operational teams

  • Knowledge of consultative or solution-based sales approaches
