This is comprised of a basic salary which is negotiable depending on experience and a very generous commission structure. VANRATH are pleased to have partnered with the Belfast City Airport to recruit a Business Development Manager for their commercial team in Belfast.

The Ideal Person

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a target driven environment.
  • Proven track record of developing new business pipelines and delivering conversion
  • Proven experience in negotiating with strong data interpretation skills.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial and commercial thinking with sound financial and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate a high drive for innovation and growth mind set with the confidence and capability to seek out and secure new business.
  • Excellent Presentation and communication skills.


  • To oversee delivery of the Business Development revenue target in the annual budget for all Commercial line items.
  • To support the overall commercial growth strategy with new initiatives.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and lead the management of pipeline activity.
  • To conduct strategic reviews periodically with regards each Commercial work stream and the fit with the overall proposition of BCA and the market.
  • To provide the business with an understanding of industry trends and insights that are relevant to new business and revenue growth.
  • To determine capital investment required to develop new revenue streams.
  • Contribute to the wider airport strategy with regards both terminal and land use.
  • Establish and manage innovative commercial work streams from idea generation through to commercialisation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that commercial development projects and negotiations are undertaken effectively and efficiently
  • To oversee competitive bid and tender processes to drive maximum value for the business
  • To work with Finance and provide forecasting and modelling of data to contribute to annual budget setting and business planning.
  • To participate in projects/working groups and to carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit of the job scope for personal development, or as reasonably required by the company
