Business Development Executive - NI & UK

We are working with a progressive, solutions-focused organisation operating within a technical and project-led sector across Northern Ireland and mainland UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Executive to support further expansion.

This opportunity will suit an ambitious sales professional who enjoys building long-term partnerships, identifying new revenue streams, and working cross-functionally to deliver value-led solutions to customers.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the commercial leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the company's presence across multiple territories. The position combines proactive new business generation with strategic account growth, ensuring consistent and sustainable revenue development.

This is a field-based role involving regular travel and a structured, target-focused approach to managing customer relationships.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement territory plans to drive new client acquisition
  • Build, manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts
  • Conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings aligned with agreed growth objectives
  • Represent the organisation at trade shows, client briefings and industry forums
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify commercial opportunities
  • Maintain detailed pipeline reporting and activity tracking via CRM systems
  • Liaise closely with internal technical and operational teams to deliver tailored solutions
  • Support continuous enhancement of sales processes and customer engagement practices

About You

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Background in sales, business development or account management
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Well organised, self-motivated and capable of managing a regional territory
  • Proficient in CRM platforms and standard business software
  • Willingness to travel across NI and the wider UK
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience within a technical, industrial or project-based environment
  • Exposure to working alongside engineering or operations teams
  • Understanding of solution-based or consultative sales approaches
