Building Maintenance Officer-Mechanical and Electrical (Public Sector)


VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Building Maintenance Officer-Mechanical and Electrical for 6 months initially with the possibility of extension.


Responsibilities

  • Respond on a day to day basis to requests from building users, for urgent repairs to their mechanical and electrical systems and infrastructure including kitchen equipment and other services deemed necessary.
  • Prepare and supervise planned maintenance programmes, minor work projects, projection of costs, drafting of specifications and working drawings.
  • To appoint and supervise contractors of various disciplines to carry out the maintenance programme and be accountable for all contractual matters.
  • Issuing works orders and certifying accounts
  • To use the existing client state management packages and software
  • Any such other duties that the client may from time to time require.

Essential skills required

  • Have a HNC / HND or equivalent in Mechanical & Electrical discipline with a minimum 2 years' post qualified experience.
  • Have an ONC or equivalent in Mechanical & Electrical discipline with a minimum of 4 years' post qualified experience.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Mechanical & Electrical discipline.
  • Proven ability to achieve challenging targets and objective through the engagement of teams
  • Proven ability of building high performance teams, delivering and achieving effective results on time and solving problems through informed decision making.
  • Proven ability of building and promoting a strong and consistent Service Delivery culture throughout a large complex and multi-site organisation.


Remuneration
£33,718, per annum, plus discount benefits.
