Bid Manager (Construction / Civil Engineering)
Client
A professional construction company operating throughout the UK and Ireland, providing construction, property redevelopment and refurbishment services across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth and ambitious expansion plans, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a proven Bid Manager to step into a pivotal role within the business, with the scope to build and lead a dedicated bids function over time.
The Ideal Person
You will be an experienced bid professional with a background in the civil engineering or construction sector, ideally within a contractor environment. You will be highly organised, commercially aware and confident managing the full bid lifecycle, while working closely with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
Responsibilities
As Bid Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, including:
- Monitoring procurement portals and other channels for new tender opportunities
- Leading the preparation, coordination and submission of high-quality bids and tenders
- Writing and tailoring CVs, case studies and capability statements
- Developing and maintaining a central bid library and templates
- Supporting wider business development and growth strategies
- Establishing best practice procedures for bid management
- Playing a key role in developing and leading the bid function as the business grows
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience managing bids within the civil engineering or construction sector
- Excellent written, editing and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
- Confident working independently and collaboratively with senior colleagues
- Commercially aware with an interest in business development
- Ambitious and adaptable with a desire to progress
Remuneration
£35,000 - £45,000 DOE + an excellent benefits package, including:
