About you

  • The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following achievements and skills
  • Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA with at least two year post qualification experience in an audit department in practice.
  • Experience at managerial level.
  • Excellent exam record.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
What you'll do
This is a critical and exciting role, reporting to the Senior Accounts/Audit manager. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will have sound financial technical skills, an ability to manage a diverse portfolio whilst offering creative solutions for the future growth and success of the business.

External Audit (70%)
  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients to include companies, charities, credit unions and clubs.
  • Being the main point of contact for audit clients.
  • Managing the audit process for all of the firm's audit clients to include planning, field work and completion for partner review.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the audit process.
  • Dealing with audit issues and research on technical matters.
  • Developing the audit department by generating new audit work through referral and the tender process.
  • Administration for the audit department to include billing.
Accounts Preparation (30%)
  • Preparation of micro/small/medium sized company accounts.
  • Managing a team in respect of bookkeeping, preparation of VAT returns and payroll for small companies.
  • Management and review of the work of junior staff members.
  • Administration for the accounts department to include billing
