What you'll do

As the Associate Director of External Audit, you will be responsible for leading and managing the external audit team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services to their Northern Ireland based clients. This role requires a seasoned audit professional with proven leadership skills, business acumen, and a strategic mindset.
Leadership and Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the external audit function, guiding the team in delivering exceptional client service and meeting organisational objectives.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing clients, understanding their business strategies, and providing valuable insights to enhance their financial controls.
Audit Strategy: Develop and implement audit strategies that align with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and the unique needs of our clients.
Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective risk management strategies, ensuring compliance and mitigating potential issues.
Team Development: Mentor, coach, and develop audit team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of audit documentation, reports, and findings, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Business Development: Contribute to business development activities, identifying opportunities to expand our client base and strengthen the firm's market position.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA)
Significant experience in external audit, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and client relationship management abilities.
Strategic thinking and business acumen.
In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
