Assistant Systems Accountant

VANRATH is pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Systems Accountant for a well-known FMCG firm. Due to recent acquisitions and organic growth my client is keen to bring on two experienced finance professionals with systems or project accounting experience. The role offers a varied working life, as you help roll-out new systems and drive continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to help implement new end-to-end processes and ensuring these are the most effective for the business model. Moreover, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across the team, and training current and new members of staff in the best practice approach to ensure the business performance is at the highest level possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Trouble shoot on existing practices, to create new and more effective solutions
  • Provide high quality documentation in relation to all process mapping, user-guides, and training manuals
  • Troubleshoot, analyse and resolve problems alongside the team manager
  • Develop useful reporting tools to accurately reflect process efficiency
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place across end-to-end process and SOX requirements
  • Teach all members of staff on end-to-end processes



The Ideal Candidate

This role requires a qualified or a part-qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years' experience in process improvement and systems implementation. Moreover, it is essential the successful candidate has experience using an ERP and integrated financial systems. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant
  • 3 years' experience in systems implementation in a finance setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience of data analytics
  • Project management experience is desirable
