Job Description


VANRATH are partnering with our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Assistant Scientific Officer to join their team on a temporary ongoing basis.

The positions are full-time (37 hrs) 9am-5pm

The Ideal Person
The role will require a person with at least GCE 'A' level passes (A to E) or equivalent, in 2 separate subjects one of which must be biology or chemistry and GCSE/GCE 'O' level grades A, B or C in English and Maths. In addition preference will be given to a person with laboratory experience gained either in a working environment or as part of higher education.
Responsibilities The post holder will be responsible for the analysis of serological samples (of animal origin) for infectious diseases. The post holder will be required to perform sample preparation, followed by analysis using a range of immunodiagnostic assays including ELISA. In addition the role will involve a number of duties related to the maintenance of ISO17025 accreditation within the laboratory and other general duties.
