Assistant Financial Accountant


I am delighted to be recruiting exclusively for a well-known construction firm based in Belfast who are on the look out for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their busy team

The Role


The Assistant Financial Accountant will oversee the day to day running of the finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of invoices.
  • Liaise with external parties and senior stakeholders
  • Preparation of annual company accounts and audits.
  • Management of credit control
  • Process invoices onto Sage
  • Produce monthly management accounts
  • VAT returns for both NI and ROI.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for Sterling, Euro and deposit accounts.
  • Assist with monthly payroll, whilst ensuring timely and accurate reporting to HMRC.
  • Prepare and present budgets, forecasting and P&L' to managing partners.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial reports.


The Ideal Candidate


The ideal candidate will be at least qualified by experience or a part qualified accountant, who has worked in a similar role previously. Moreover, it is vital the successful individual has previous experience using Sage. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA,CIMA,IATI) or QBE
  • 5 GSCE's or equivalent at grade C or above, to include Maths and English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience using Sage
